Herd em up and move em out

PLR Hot N Sassie is our trusty calf sitter.  She is usually nominated to lead (or follow) the young uns around while the older mommas graze and wander around the pasture.  She is a sweet young cow but she hasn't yet learned to let us scratch her.  None of the girls will let us get too close to them or their calves right now but we spend more and more time with them every day and they are starting to get used to us.  They will eat cubes out of our hands and allow us to touch their noses.  Small progress but still its a start.

Meet the KLR herd

"H.C" a.k.a PLR High Command is our herd sire and a gentle giant in the making. He is just a young bull but has already got a beautiful, healthy heifer calf on the ground. He is very inquisitive and likes to explore ...fences, how well he can roll a bucket across the pasture...he is our snuggle bear, loves loves loves to be rubbed all over and will drop his head and stay calm and mellow while we scratch, even if he is being attacked all over by flies. His mellow disposition has carried over to his offspring. "KLR Precious Jewel" is showing signs of being just as loveable as her big daddy.

"KLR Precious Jewel"

"Derrick Darling" and her bull calf "KLR Deuce of Hearts" is a gorgeous pair that wow and awe. They have the most striking patterns and Darling is by far the most photogenic of the herd with her calm and easy demeanor. Deuce has a pair of identicle hearts on his hips, and he is a fave with the "ladies". He will make a champion sire someday and be stealing hearts and making them go boom all over Texas.

"Firefly" and her calf "Sweet Pea"

Firefly, a black and white beauty, has the most "hook'em" attititude and her white with red points heifer calf has bloodlines to BEVO. They are an eye catching pair and certainly keep the herd in line. She is "herd leader" and always gets in there first when its feeding time. She is also our most vocal and lets out a soft bellow when she sees us heading her way with the buckets.
